D&D Campaign Player Prompt


Setting

This is a time of glory and wonder within what will later be known as The First Empire of Xian, however tensions are high as diplomatic relations between nations that will last lifetimes are being crafted. Events soon to come will shape the course of history forever….

You are a Prisoner of Xian, and you do not know your fate. If you are lucky, you may be put to death, but if not, you will likely be worked until you collapse. Either way, fate has brought you here and fate shall continue guide you forwards.

Character Creation Rules

Banned Races

• All Elves – They have not left their Homelands yet
• Drow – They don’t exist yet
• Tieflings – They don’t exist yet
• Halflings – They don’t live in these lands
• Goliath – They don’t live in these lands
• Dwarf – They don’t live in these lands

• Dragonborn
• Half-orc
• Aarakorca
• Forest Gnome
• Genasi
• Vaxlithel
• Anubi

Human

You are, or were, a member of The Xianese Empire. You can fit into almost any role.

Half-Orc

You are the bastard offspring of an Orcish raiding party and innocent village-dwellers. The few Half-Orcs that are within Xianese Society are slaves, muscle, and very rarely Soldiers.

Dragonborn

The Alliance of Xian and Arkeshh is strong, containing very lucrative trade routes, shared knowledge, and combined armies. Perhaps you were a Trade Escort that was in the wrong place at the wrong time, or maybe you were a noble, victim of shrewd negotiations, having pushed too far.

At this time Metallics do not openly discriminate against Chormats, and there is little animosity.

Aarakorca

Although they are rare, The Aarakorca are respected by the Xianese. Although they usually spend their entire lives within their nest, some leave on journey quests. Your foreignness to human ways may have been what has gotten you into trouble.

Vaxlithel

At this time the Vaxlithel aren’t Renown Guerilla Fighters, But rather Devout Worshipers of the Night Serpent, Dendarr, and are the major enemies of Xian. You may have been imprisoned simply because of your race.

Gnome (Forest Only)

Tales of Gnomish villages are told all across Xian, but few have ever seen such creatures. Nevertheless, Gnomes are greatly respected. Your foreignness to human ways may have been what has gotten you into trouble.

Genasi

Demons and Devils have yet to leave a mark upon the world, however the primordial elements still last eternally, marking few of great destiny. Tricksters and knowledge-seekers by nature, your fount of luck may have run out as you’ve landed in trouble.

Anubi

Although the Anubi are a secluded people, even in the oldest of times their hunger for knowledge brought them all around the world. Your desire for knowledge may have drove pass the laws of Xian.
